Sheila's story

I am employed by the South African Football Association (SAFA) as a hospitality assistant. I recently completed my Marketing Short Learning Programme through Boston City Campus and Business College thanks to the funding I received from the the 2010 FIFA Legacy Trust.

I am delighted and thankful to my manager and the Legacy Trust for allowing me time off to go further my studies and for funding. I could not have accomplished this without support from SAFA.

During my time at SAFA I have come to realise what marketing can do to boost the image of the organisation. With effective marketing comes sponsor support which will further develop football in South Africa and enable our national teams to be strong global competitors.

I am now inspired to further my studies by registering for a diploma in marketing, which I already have credits towards. I am also considering studying towards a bachelor degree. I challenge all my peers at SAFA to take the opportunity that presents itself to further their studies thanks to support from the Legacy Trust.
